Valentina Castillo

Valentina is an attorney from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, D.C., Colombia), a specialist in financial legislation from the same university, and holds a Master of Laws in Corporate Law (LL.M. in Corporate Law) from New York University (NYU School of Law). In her professional practice, Valentina has specialized in corporate litigation and advising national and multinational companies, as well as foreign investors from various sectors such as Oil & Gas, petrochemical, public services, technology, and the financial sector, on corporate law, commercial law, and financial regulation matters. Her practice includes advising on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions transactions, negotiation and drafting of complex commercial contracts, corporate compliance, and corporate disputes. Valentina has experience in both the public and private sectors, including her work at the Delegation for Commercial Procedures of the Superintendence of Companies, as well as providing advice as both external counsel and in-house counsel. Additionally, Valentina is a Senior Fellow of the Ibero-American Institute of Law and Finance (IIDF) and a guest lecturer in corporate litigation and corporate law diploma programs at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá, D.C.) and Universidad de Medellín in partnership with the Institute for Corporate Analysis (IDEAS).
