Sergio Rodríguez Azuero
Sergio Rodríguez Azuero is a lawyer educated at the Universidad del Rosario. He is an Emeritus and Honorary Professor and has twice served as Consiliario (Governing Council Member) of the Universidad del Rosario. He is an undergraduate professor and Director of the Specialization in Financial Law at the same university. He is also an Honorary Professor at the Universidad Católica de Guayaquil. He is the author, among others, of the books “Contratos Bancarios” (Banking Contracts) and “Negocios Fiduciarios. Su significación en América Latina” (Fiduciary Transactions: Their Significance in Latin America). He is a founding partner of CMS Rodríguez-Azuero. He has been a visiting professor at Universidad Carlos III and Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, at Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II), and at the Institute of Comparative Law of Lausanne. He is a member of The International Academy of Estate and Trust Law, a full member of the Colombian Academy of Jurisprudence, and of the Ibero-American Institute of Law and Finance. He has been awarded the title of Knight of the Legion of Honor and is a member of the Order of the Founder of the Universidad del Rosario. He was a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University in New York in 2013–2014. He is also a writer and lecturer on numerous occasions on matters related to banking and financial regulation.
