Ligia Catherine Arias Barrera

Ligia Catherine Arias-Barrera is an Asscociate Professor of Financial Law at Universidad Externado of Colombia. She received a PhD in Financial Law from the University of Warwick (United Kingdom) as a fellow of the Banco de la República. Master in Commercial and Corporate Law from Queen Mary University of London (United Kingdom). Author of the book 'Regulation and Supervision of the OTC Derivatives Market' published by Routledge in 2018, recognized by BookAuthority as one of the best banking law books of all time. Ligia is registered as an Independent Expert of the Legal Department of the International Monetary Fund. Likewise, she works as an international consultant in Financial Regulation, Capital Markets, Financial Derivatives and Regulatory Reforms. She is a consultant on Central Clearing Services, Exchange and OTC, Legal Structure, Conflicts of Law, CCPs-CMs Contracts in Emerging Markets (Nigeria). External consultant of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates. He is currently Chief Legal Counsel (CLC) at Financial Services Consulting (UK) and is part of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Sustainable Financing team.
