Juan Antonio Gaviria

Juan Antonio Gaviria holds a Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) from American University (Washington, D.C.), with an LL.M. in International Business Law from the same institution. He also holds a Master’s degree in Economics from EAFIT University and a Master’s degree in Law from Universidad Externado. He earned his Law degree from UPB, a Colombian university. He has 25 years of professional experience advising companies and over 20 years of research and teaching experience in Colombia and abroad. He serves as an arbitrator at the Arbitration Center of the Medellín Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Antioquia, and the Chamber of Commerce of Cali. He is a Full Professor and researcher at EAFIT’s School of Law and a member of the university’s Research Group on Law and Power. He has published five books and dozens of book chapters and articles in indexed journals on corporate law, business law, and the economic analysis of law.
