José Martínez

José Martínez is a Finance Professor at the University of Connecticut, Senior Research Fellow at Saïd Business School – University of Oxford and a member of the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance. He obtained a BA in Economics at the Rosario National University, a Masters in Economy at the University Torcuato Di Tella (both in Buenos Aires, Argentina), and a Ph.D. in Economy and Finance at the Columbia University. Before starting his academic career, he worked in Buenos Aires as a financial analyst. After obtaining his Ph.D., he joined The Institute of Financial Research in Stockholm, Sweden. His main research areas include corporate finance, capital markets efficiency, the role of institutional investors and investor’s behaviour, having been published in many international journals and participated in numerous conferences. His current research is focused on the behaviour of individual and institutional investors, its impact in the asset pricing and the choice of pension funds.
