José Engrácia Antunes

José Engrácia Antunes is a jurist and academic specializing in Law. He earned a Master’s degree in Law from the Portuguese Catholic University (1989) and a Doctorate in Law from the European University Institute (1992). He has been a visiting or guest professor at numerous international universities, including Bonn (1988), Tokyo (1989), London (1992), Connecticut (1999), Fontainebleau (2002), Madrid (2003), São Paulo (2004), Copenhagen (2007), Frankfurt (2008), Vienna (2010), Luxembourg (2011), and Harvard (2023), among others. He is a member of the Scientific Society of the Catholic University (Lisbon, since 2000), the European Company Law Group (Aarhus, since 2007), and the European Banking Institute (Frankfurt, since 2016). He has also collaborated with the Bank of Portugal (1997) and the European Commission (2011). He is the author of more than two hundred monographs and studies, published by academic presses in Portugal, Brazil, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and the United States.
