Jorge Armando Corredor

Jorge Armando Corredor Higuera is a lawyer and a specialist from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law, Investment, Trade and Arbitration from Heidelberg University (Germany), and a PhD in Law from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain). His extensive professional experience includes serving as an official at the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia; participating as a member of the Academic Committee of the Bolsa Mercantil de Colombia and of the Academic Committee of the Colombian Securities Market Self-Regulatory Organization (Autorregulador del Mercado de Valores de Colombia – AMV); acting as an independent member of the Decision Chamber of the Disciplinary Tribunal of the AMV; serving as an independent member of the Disciplinary Chamber of the BMC Bolsa Mercantil de Colombia; and acting as a national arbitrator in commercial and financial law at various arbitration centers in Colombia. In recent years, he has also worked as a consultant and litigator in commercial, banking, capital markets and fintech law. His professional background is further complemented by his academic work as an undergraduate and graduate lecturer in banking law and securities markets at Universidad Externado de Colombia, as well as by publications of books, book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles on banking law, securities markets, financial consumer protection, and blockchain, including tokenization.
