Cássio Cavalli

Cássio Cavalli is a Professor of Law at Fundação Getulio Vargas School of Law in Rio de Janeiro (FGV Direito Rio), where he currently teaches Bankruptcy Law, and Law and Economics of the Firm in the undergraduate and master programs. He is a Senior Consultant at Veirano Advogados, a major Brazilian law firm, where he practices law for insolvency matters. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws degrees from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) and a PhD degree in Law from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Professor Cavalli has authored five books on Bankruptcy Law, Contract Law and Corporate Law, and several articles and book sections. His areas of main interest lie in Bankruptcy Law, Contract Law, Corporate Law and Law and Economics. He is a member of several associations, including the Brazilian Chapter of the Turnaround Managment Association - TMA, of which he is a board member, and the Committe for Bankruptcy Law of the Brazilian Bar Association, Section of Rio de Janeiro, of which he is vice-president.
