Catarina Saramago

Catarina Saramago earned a law degree awarded by the Catholic University of Portugal, after completing their undergraduate program in law in the 5th position. Later, she graduated with first class honours from the University of Cambridge, thus holding an LLM degree with specialisation in Commercial Law. She is currently a Research Associate at the Centre for Banking & Finance Law of the National University of Singapore and a consultant for the Portuguese law firm Sérvulo & Associados. Her main area of interest is financial law, with a particular focus on debt issuance in the capital markets, structured finance, syndicated lending and transfer of loans, including in the context of reorganisation of corporate groups and pre-insolvency debt restructurings. Catarina’s current research project covers the analysis of the impact of the use of distributed ledger technologies in the debt capital markets.
